development sketch

The concept was to create a hub within the home that was flexible, simple and open.

The extension latches onto the house as a new form, which is evident externally and internally with bold rectangular angles. The dark stained timber cladding and blue black brickwork is prominent next to the bare stone render. The expanse of glazing to the north and the roof light above flood in lots of natural light without creating glare. The kitchen fills the inner section of the room allowing cooking to be uninterrupted when the rest of the home is busy.
